TripAdvisor Broze Leaders Award

Wycliffe Achieves Multiple TripAdvisor Awards

In recent months the Wycliffe has been awarded both TripAdvisor’s Certificate of Excellence 2014 and GreenLeaders Bronze Leader Awards.

The TripAdvisor’s Certificate of Excellence is a prestigious accolade awarded to only the top ten percent of businesses, an impressive feat as there are approximately one million hotels listed on the world’s largest travel site.

While the more recent GreenLeaders award aims to showcase businesses committed to ‘green practices’ like recycling and local and organic food sourcing.

Owner and Manager, Mark Tavini, commented:

“Being the first hotel in Stockport to achieve a GreenLeaders award is fantastic. Although we only managed to achieve the bronze level award this does show a positive move for our business.

We have; implemented sensors which turn off electronics when a guest’s room is empty into over ninety percent of our rooms, energy-saving lighting controls in public areas, a towel reuse programme, at least seventy-five percent of interior lightbulbs that are energy-efficient and water-efficient toilets in public restrooms.”

The awards come on the back of a so far successful year for the Wycliffe, with room occupancy rates up almost a tenth (7.35%) from January to November on the previous year.

In addition to the awards the Wycliffe Hotel is, at the time of writing this article 19/11/14, ranked the number one hotel in Stockport and eleventh in Greater Manchester – a fantastic achievement for a small, family run business.
